For winter it is hands down better.
For year round I don't worry about the extra 3 oz.
Plus it's nice to just use a folded piece of regular aluminum foil for a windscreen and not worry about some bulky disposable pie pan setup
Though if you're starting from scratch and only plan on going in the summer, a cheapo chinkshit pocketrocket and the heat exchanger pot OP posted will work just fine.
