I used white's for the first two years of firefighting but just recently bought a pair of meindl denalis from cabelas in order to take advantage of the new boot stipend the usfs offers. Honestly I prefer the denalis because they're lighter and, I think, comfier so I've been wearing them everyday since I started in early April. I have noticed the rubber has begun to peel around the toes like the old la sportivas used to do and that was from being on a fire for only 4 days.
I keep my whites in my bin on the carrier just in case I need them.
