Hi there /out/
I have been loving this board up till about 2 weeks ago where I really started to notice off topic and hostility, there is still great stuff here but now have to look a bit harder
I am not an will never claim to be an /out/ authority but just a concerned /out/ groupie that would love to keep coming to this board for years to come.
Now that the /out/ community has grown the discussions are across many different /out/looks from truck /k/amping to just /b/eing out of your room. This is good as it means that the board will have the numbers to keep it alive as long as the content stays relevant.
I like lightweight hiking but others may like being under the stars in their truck more. So please be aware that there are so many different motives for being /out don’t assume that we now all share the same /out/look
What do you guys think about being a bit aspie in original postings to make sure that the next person understands what kind of camping ect you are talking about eg your idea of hiking is carrying large heavy equipment so that you can build large rigid structures out of logs on overnight trips or that your definition of hiking is carrying a tarp and a jar of peanut butter for a 2 week hike
Note to /k/omrades a lot of good stuff from you guys but please be aware that it seems most of /out/ don’t like the idea of weapons for self defence/personal protection innawoods or big knifes for that matter (in my own unqualified irrelevant opinion). I am sure lots of people would like to know your expertise on field craft, field dressing and the like but don’t need to know about your moist nugget, meh fredoms or meh ka bar ect. I do carry a knife innawoods but it is just one small piece of what keeps me outdoors and don’t enjoy talking about the pros and cons of each knife and it seems I am not alone.
Sorry about the long winded ultra faggety post but just want to keep coming back to this board
