I'm not saying the cheap tools are efficient. I'm not saying they'll do a better job than a proper workshop.
I'm saying they work and if it's all you've got, then you shouldn't not make knives with them.
Pic related. Could I have made it quicker with a real anvil and propane forge? Yes. Do I have those things? No. Did I make something anyways? Absolutely.
As for designing with CAD and sending it somewhere for someone else to do the work for you, filing some bevels, then sending it elsewhere for someone else to do the work for you, I say fuck that. Why bother saying you made it yourself?
