if i ever need a knot that requires more permanent tensile strength i will always go back to the one i learned in scouts, the reef knot.
the difference between the two is that untying a reef knot once it has a lot of pressure on it is neigh impossible.
i have no reason to learn any other knots, although I am thinking of getting into fishing soon and would like to know if there are any special knots to learn or hook tying?
