CC permits being issued are up 200%, 16.3mil in the last year alone. New gun sales to people have skyrocket the past few years, literally tripling in 9 years, with the FBI running BG checks on people they never have previously and none of those count private sales, home builds, or guns. The US is estimated to have 40% of the guns in the world in private hands, which is probably low because of how little we regulate and keep track of these things, but you really believe "most people dont own guns" when all the evidence points to an absurd amount owning them in the first place, and more people who have never owned one getting them increasing every day.
So when you tell me "Most people dont own guns because X poll said they didnt!!" I tell you polls about sensitive subjects often arent reliable as evidenced by the current president.
