>>2723168>how do you do it with the diagonals?I do nothing but a plow point, it's too small to reasonably set it up any other way. I set it high in fair-ish weather. There are two reinforced strips in the middle on the inside (roughly at tramp stamp position when you're wearing it) that I'd like to fashion into a tie-out point down the line for some more headroom. Those strips had buttons on them when I got it, I've since used those to repair the regular buttons once they came off. I set the plow point low when shit sucks, similar to picrel. Feet first. Always have to take the wind into account - it will rain right on your head if you don't.
That I can use it as a poncho is the main selling point for me. I go fishing often and they're pretty anal about fishing shelters where I live. It's good to be able to just throw your 'shelter' on your body. It's easy to set up and move around with in any case, plow point or wearing it, so changing spots isn't a pain for me.
If you're on an extended trip or want some modicum of comfort you're better off with something else though. Or get a buddy to buy another half. Look at it like a poncho with a gimmick - fine for a weekend trip. Can't recommend in heavy storms or snow.
