Some of it's that I don't shoot long very often, some of it is that this ride isn't really "appropriate" for this sort of lens.
It got shipped back this morning, gives me most of my rental $-days back as store credit on my account. I'll definitely rent this lens again next year for the race that got cancelled this year.
