I live on an acreage somewhere that hits 40 degrees celcius in summer with barely rain (ausfagia)
All the grass is dry and yellow at this point
I've noticed though that the grass growing under my deck remains green during this time (so long as the rabbits don't get it)
I have been considering growing a tree-tunnel (maybe there's a proper name for it) by planting two rows of Pittosporum tenuifolium parrellal, about 5-6 metres apart
once they get tall enough I will use a rope or similar to draw the tops of them together
this should then form a tree tunnel and make a nice green grass area in theory for summer, so I can maybe grow something or enjoy green grass
am I dreaming or has anyone seen examples of this done in hot slimates?
