While fishing a new section of creek, I caught 21.5 chubs (1 being a quick release), 1 baby large mouth, a minnow (snagged) and a green sun fish hybrid. I fished for 4 hours, and most of the time was spent walking. Water levels are very low, so walking was nice and easy. There was very little trash, and what trash I did find was quite old: 1 board with screws in it, 2 tires, landscaping mesh, and some very old beer cans.
After 5 chubs, I grew tired of putting new worm on, so I started using plastic, which worked really well, but I continued to put a little bit of worm on from time to time. My very first cast with the plastic worm, the tail was bitten off. Later on, while fishing the log that yielded the sunfish, a fish that was eager to bite but unable to get the hook in its mouth. As a result, my plastic got torn up. I'm guessing the culprit was a sunfish, right?
I had a good time exploring, and I really enjoyed the weather. I get the impression, based on the steep banks, abundance of burrs, some poison ivy, and the very old but few items of trash that I was the first person on this section of creek in a few years.
