I got inspired and decided to make a stove. I've wanted a DIY stove to use when we go car camping and I decided to fool around and make one today. This is a wood gassifier stove made with a big can (#10?) with a pound coffee can inside it. The big can was opened with one of those openers that breaks the crimp but doesn't cut the lid, so I used the lid to mount the coffee can. That left the bottom on the can. I did it that way to keep the temperature at the base low so I could put it on a wood table without messing up the table. I burned it for quite a while getting the galvanizing off the pot support and didn't scorch the typing paper underneath. It boiled a quart of water in about 7 or 8 minutes. The one thing I might change is adding another row of holes at the bottom of the outside can. Took about half an hour, but I still need to deburr it. That'll take a bit, as well.
