>>1680219One more of the shed interior. Here's what I learned and some questions for more experienced folks.
>What I learnedDon't wear a backpack. I tried a different spot last night when it was darker out. I think the backpack drew some attention by making me look more homeless than I am. A kindly local couple pulled over and asked if I was doing okay; this was fine, but could've been worse since people are conditioned to despise homeless people for some reason.
A beanie will suffice for face protection from the cold, at least where I am. Really wanted to use a three-hole balaclava for STALKER larp points, but I'm positive it would draw unwanted attention.
Break in your boots first. Today was better since they're more broken in, but yesterday's trip absolutely tore up my feet.
Park at churches, but not on Sundays. They're usually empty and I don't think they'd get mad at you for having a car around for a few hours.
>QuestionsWhat do I do about dogs? A totally unbound dog nearly bit me because I was on his street. He followed me for a bit, but I was able to keep him away by moving suddenly at him when he'd get too close. Should I carry dog treats? A bone? Do better scouting and avoid dogs completely? I'm sure I would be a lot worse off right now if it was a pitbull.
What answer do I give strangers that are curious about me? I was able to keep cool with the local couple that pulled over, but I told them I was just "hiking" or "on a walk" (forgot which one). No idea what unsuspicious stuff I'd say to folks that inquire more deeply about what I'm doing.
Where to park? The churches have been fine so far, but I don't know where to put my car if there isn't a church nearby. Most of the locations I've marked are in the middle of nowhere. Really don't want to park on-site, that'd be VERY stupid.
That's all for now. Good luck lads.
