I wore la sportiva tx4 approach shoe in Alaska for my new assistant guide job. I averaged over 12 miles a day over 43 days. My toes are now numb and probably will be till Christmas (aka christmas toes). These are the perfect shoe in my opinion except that they lack a rockplate and forefoot cushioning. If they had these two things i would buy 20 pairs and wear them for the rest of my life. I will make my own rockplate from pvc and get an insole with metatarsal pad.
