One of my favorite: cypress swamps.
>>2350991The Florida panhandle beaches are fantastic but they limit the space people can visit by having limited parking. It’s a pretty good idea, actually. The crowds stay close to their cars; if you can hoof it up the shore it thins out. Also, there are a couple that are part of the National Parks system, specifically Gulf Island Seashore. I think it’s $20 a car. We went on a Memorial Day weekend and saw 3 or 4 cars turn around and leave when they saw that they’d have to pay. We paid, parked, walked maybe 1/4 mile, and were completely isolated from any crowd noise. A small fee for access to something that you can get for free really keeps a lot of people away.
