I have very few requirements for it, just a wood or other natural material handle and preferably any finish but a shiny silver one. Steel is less important, and I can have a sheath made if it doesn't come with one for free at work. Also since it is essentially a costume knife and not going to be used for much more than a belt weight and cutting the occasional bit of whatever cheap is always good.

It's not about utility, it's about the cool factor.

I have a knife that has served me well for years, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to make pic related just for the aesthetics.

The problem is I'm not sure what steel to use and I'm don't have my shop here at school.

That looks terrible inconvenient to use, but I understand getting stuck on an impractical knife. I've been trying for years to find a blade like pic related, but I can't find the blanks in a decent steel, and any knife I find close to it so that I can do the rest of the work myself it's either outrageous expensive or total crap. I'm gonna have to buy steel and make it myself eventually I think, but at the moment I don't have enough time or money to buy all the equipment that I will need to do it right.
