>>1885890You can get awesome views and no crowds at the same time. In fact, where I'm from (Alaska), the hardest hikes usually lead to the best views. All the flat easy hikes lead to mediocre views compared to whats in the backcountry. You just gotta pick a hard enough hike man. Pic related is an awesome summit view with 7000 feet of elevation gain over 5 miles after a 12.5 mile trek from the parking lot. Nothing technical or anything just a leg burner. Didn't see a single person on the ascent. You want to know what day I took this? 4th of July on a Saturday. Every one and their entire family is out. Except they are all out doing easy marked 2 mile out and back hikes they found on Alltrails.
But you're generally right on the weekday thing - weekdays are significantly less busy at the trailheads.
