>>1296301look up "dead drift" it's the vast majority of what you do with flies that aren't streamers. sure there are some you can skate and some you can swim but the vast majority of the time you are just dead drifting
>>1296325i own 5 fly rod/reel combos, then for spinning/memecasting/conventional gear i have another 15+
>>1296397depends on what all comes with the boat. if it's just a boat with oars, i wouldn't pay more than 200 and if im paying that much i want it to look immaculate. if it has a trailer i'd pay as much as 400, and up to 600 if both the boat and trailer are in superb condition and it comes with a nice motor.
as for tying your own feathered trebles, i've never done it but i can tell you what you'll need
>something called "china saddles" (its cheap, strung saddle hackle) some thread (i would go for danville's flymaster flat waxed 140 denier) a bobbin (griffin bobbins are nice for the money) and some way to hold the hook. if you're only doing a few you can just use some vice grips, if you want it to be maximum easy a cheap vice ($20 or less) will be ideal. you might also want a whip finish tool but you don't need it.>>1296414if you are on about tenkara, here's a list of fish you can safely cross off your list of "things i can fish for"
>carp over 5 pounds>most if not all salmon>bass over 2/3 of a pound (unless you have a boat)>saltwater anything>basically anything that you can't get within 30 feet ofit will work decently enough for creeks and shit, but fly fishing is a meme as it is, and even fly fishermen think tenkara is a meme
