The only reason why you think shallow spools cast farther is because you have to put on piss thin braid onto it, smaller diameter line = longer casts. Put the same line on a regular 2500 size reel and it casts the same distance. My Stradic 2500 Ci4+ using the same rod and same line casts the same distance as pic related reel.
