I love night hiking, it started as more of a necessity for getting to a decent spot to camp after work but honestly in the summer I'm starting to prefer it. Less people, neat wildlife, less hot, no sunburn. I have little bits of reflective cord tied to most of my stuff and I mainly use the red setting on a streamlight sidewinder II headlamp to see. A tritium compass has also comes in handy. Any tricks for getting around at night you've picked up along the way? Any recomendations for a good angled flashlight that has a red filter or really strong red LEDs?
