Got my deer/elk tag for later this year. Will probably get a whitetail if anything, but maybe I'll be lucky enough to get a shot at an elk or mule deer. I'm gonna be hunting on private property, 10 acres in rural Montana. There's a stream there that animals use as a highway down lower into the valley. Gonna use a treestand and a 12 gauge with slugs, any shot I take will be within 30 yards. This will be my first deer so I'm both excited and a little nervous. My dad didn't hunt so I'm self taught, so far I've hunted rabbit and turkey. Pic related is from a turkey this spring.
