>>2740741I just have my spool tension tight enough to barely eliminate wobble and a mid setting of brakes. You just get used to it. My non-DC reels are set to 2 brakes on, setting 3 out of 6 on the dial and on my Daiwa it’s setting 12 out of 20.
Adjust accordingly to wind. If I’m casting into the wind, dial it up just a small amount. External dial on 4 or 5 on a Shimano, Daiwa 14 or 15.
I roll cast my big baits 95% of the time. 4% are pitching or flipping, 1% are overhand. You’ll absolutely feel your rod load up when you roll cast. Do not fling it. Let the rod do the work.
