>>1540172>>1540173Wind breaks are the only thing that really help. I've tried using string like a fence around and through the corn, but any place the string touched, even lightly would get snapped off or bend over the string when the wind hit it. Now there's more wind breaks grown where I grow corn and that helped heaps.
>>1540174What kind of onions? I'm growing some red and some white onions. they are doing really well this year despite the rains.

>>1540183If it is slimy then it is cooked incorrectly. It is pretty good if picked when still properly tender. Otherwise, they get stringy and real tough quickly. I stopped growing it because everyone who fixed it didn't know how to fix it and it was always disgusting. I prefer mine battered and fried.
>>1540220>>1540239>>1540264Stray and feral cats will kill a chicken. They have more trouble with roosters and tend to leave them alone. A proper dog will kill everything. As will a fox. Every land dwelling thing in the Mustelidae family are pretty vicious and efficient when it comes to killing. They do far better than the domesticated animals like cats. If you have Mustelidae in your area then you need to really batten down the hatches for coop security. They can slip through amazingly small holes like a snake or mouse. They will also kill things in broad daylight, so it is useful to have guard animals around and to set traps and such.
