I've always had to pick them green before deer and squirrels got them so I'm very looking forward to my first tree ripened one. Hand pollination and fingers crossed, but it was always buzzing with flies and covered in ants. No beetle, but still awesome.
This is what every 2-3 days looks like. By the end a lot just get eaten by wasps and ants because we can't get to them all but I'm happy to share.
