Firstly you have to consider the wild west frontier times and fundamentally rootless nature of United Statesians, who'd move far and wide to greater economic opportunities. What Europooreans don't realize about the US is that it's a fucking huge place that has always housed many distinct ethnicities whereas a healthy and cohesive nation is built on a homogenous population, creating strong internal trust.
The same applies to public spending - commons - things that are connected to cohesiveness generally. You find Yurops asking why the US just doesn't get public healthcare, and the short answer is "they don't want to pay an even higher niggertax than they already do".
In the coming decades we'll likely see support for the gutting of public services and commons in Europe too, as a reaction to the ongoing shitskin invasion/population replacement program. People will want (in vain) for private schools, homeschooling etc - kosher paths out of a dysfunctional society. It's the response of those who are too myopic or cowardly to demand real solutions and a return to greatness. Because greatness necessitates hierarchy and force which conflicts with modern sensibilites i.e worship of weakness. National unity would be racist and sexist.
In short, United Statesians want to disassociate from society to the greatest extent possible because it's alienating and fractured and they feel no deep kinship with their neighbors.
