If you're looking for something to both chop and split with, a wedge taper profile would be ideal (similar to pic related, although this one would struggle more with splitting but would be a better chopper). Its impossible to find one axe that does everything well so just keep that in mind. That's also the reason I carry 2 axes plus a hatchet on fishing trips. 1 for splitting, 1 for chopping, 1 for carving and kindling. With all of that said, the 3.5lb Sport Utility Jersey (32" handle) is $60, and their 2.25lb Boys Axe (28" handle) is $50. Id go with the jersey if you're camping out of the truck (it will also be a better all arounder) and the boys axe if you're planning on doing more hiking into your campsites as it will be less cumbersome. Alternatively if you can source a vintage head and a nice handle, you can hang it, profile, and sharpen it yourself. Be careful though, its an addiction that only gets worse.
