And if you had to pull the handle, you've already made at least one bad terrain decision, and the snow conditions are obviously slidey. Not a good place to be.
Pieps/BD has an electronic fan-based airbag system, that pack design leaves a lot to be desired and I think some of the electronics will get ironed out as that technology matures, but that system currently gives you four guaranteed deployments on a full-charge. Easiest bag to repack too, can do it easily on the mountain.
I'm not a water guy, but I was under the impression the life vests were repackable/rearmable similar to these airbags.
