so after reading some post by DIY sandals anon i became intrigued and bought pic related because I didn't have time to make my own DIY sandals. now after 2 weeks of almost daily hikes I have to say he was right about everything. I had an ankle injury that would not heal because I would reinjure it everytime I went hiking. this lead me to wear high boots and even an ankle brace. turns out I was just making it weaker. after two weeks of hiking in minimal sandals I did not reinjure my ankle because my feet where allowed to conform to obstacles and my ankle has finally healed. it use to crack and pop whenever I moved it. not only is that gone but its strong enough to run and jump on now. ill probably go back to boots in the winter but im going to hike in sandals whenever possible from now on.
