I've been interested in becoming a Park Ranger at either the Everglades National Park or Big Cyprus National Preserve in Florida.
I know that college degrees are a must but aren't top priority when it comes to choosing who gets hired, what kind of experience should I gain and what should be my major? I'm starting community college in the fall and found out that the law enforcement program is pre-paid.
That's wonderful and all but i'm not sure if it's worth the trouble going through if experience is the more important factor in getting hired and some other degree like Wildlife Management or Public Administration might prove to be more beneficial than a simple law enforcement degree if all else fails.
So in short, what should be my major and what type of experience should I gain before applying for a Park Ranger position?
