>>1641537There was some anon from Asia who posted here a few times, Malaysia or somewhere like that. He was saying that snakeheads are a big sport fish for them, almost like bass here. He was jealous seeing pics at the ones I catch in the little canals here because his area is full of Asians with no rules who keep everything they catch so he gets a bunch of like 10” fish.
I’m sure the sneks grow fast here too because they dominate the food chain in the water. I always tell people that you will understand why they’re such a bad invasive species after hooking a few. They are way different than LMB in the way they strike and fight.
Also... my biggest regret, I’m pretty sure I hooked a monster one day. It was at this lake where dude was telling me a story of a guy who caught a bullseye snek that was >40”. I’m almost positive I either got the same fish or his brother because he hit the lure and ran out like 100ft of line and went diving (like sneks do) and wrapped me up around some shit. No way it was a bass with how it ran, could’ve been a huge catfish but I have literally never hit a catfish in hundreds of catches here, and no gators in this lake (but I think a gator woulda felt a lot different). The thing was so much stronger than ~24” sneks, but fought the same way.
