I'm at that inbetween-point with my truck/trailer, where I pull enough that I could use a diesel, but not really enough to need a diesel.
Power Wagon package gives me 4.56 gears in the diffs, and plenty of power even with the trailer loaded.
With the cost difference between gasoline (~$3.55/g) and diesel (~3.75/g), it's a little cheaper per mile with gas.
