>>2318416I was hiking in Zion and there was a huge crowd stopped on the trail in a circle. It was a fat rattlesnake just lounging on the trail. I started to walk past and some 25 year old REI douchebag jumps in front of me and says "get back!" like it was going to go flying in the air at any second and bite my face, I just stepped over it. Similar thing happened to me with a gopher snake in Marin county, but I just grabbed it by the tail and dragged it into the grass, the frozen hikers were looking at me like I must be suicidal to confront this deadly serpent.
