Lesson learned bros, anytime you are vacationing, ALWAYS bring a fishing rod. Especially true for fly fishing because the rod is super compact when broken down and the tackle takes up no space in comparison to the shitload of clothes your old lady packs. Just went out to Disney World because my wife has wanted to go for the past couple years (COVID screwed our original plans) and thought I wouldn't have time to go fishing or find somewhere to go fish. We get to our resort and find it's surrounded by a ton of well stocked ponds just steps from our room. Water is super clean so you could stand at the shore and just watch all the bass swimming around the lily pads. I ended up renting a rod from Disney and of course it's horribly underspooled with super high test line so it can't cast for shit, and is equipped with a paddle tail swimbait that's texas rigged. Still caught one fish after 2 hours of casting a max of 25 yards but there was a lot of fun I missed out on by not having a fly rod with large top-water flies, poppers, and streamers. Pic related.
