I live in California by a military base known as camp pendelton to the East which has miles and miles of valleys and shit. I frequently go hiking in this area although it's all "No Trespassing" areas. Noticeable animals that I see on a daily basis are deer and coyotes. It's also really easy to walk into the military base and there is this one area on the side of a giant hill that is covered in trees that is used for recruit training that looks like a jungle once youre in that area. I haven't found a river just dry river beds but there are small lakes. Every now and then you'll hear artillery fire and machine gun fire in the distance.
