>>1377309Where do you live? What are you winters like? Do you have the means/time to travel? Look for the nearest country you could head to to avoid winter conditions. Otherwise if your winters aren't too hard you could try a couple of things:
>Layering multiple sleeping bags and matsI have a 30F and a 50F quilt that I layer in the winter, I didn't want to buy a third sleeping bag so just combine my light summer bag and my 3 season bag. These two plus some clothes are comfy into some pretty low temps. I also combine my self-inflating mat with a CCF mat.
>ShelterYou don't really need a four season shelter if you are just starting out as you most likely won't be venturing out into places that will require one.
>ClothingJust bring more, remember layers, maybe get some decent base layers and a puffy and you should be grand.
>FootwearIf you already some decent boots then you are good to go. I hike in the snow with trail runners, I use either neoprene socks or possom down. Possoms have hollow hairs like a polar bear so they keep your feet toasty even when wet. Same with the neoprene but it tends to get pretty smelly.
There's more than likely a way you can get out and enjoy the chilly season. Pic related, snow shoeing in the swiss alps.
