Planted my garden about three weeks ago. I'm trying paper mulch for this year, just to see how it works. While it does seem to be keep weeds mostly under control around the plants, the pathways are riddled with crabgrass seedlings. I'm thinking about putting down some cardboard to prevent them from getting light.
How does /out/ keep down the weeds?
Are there any other low budget ways of keeping them down that don't look as tacky and don't involve chemicals?
