If that's the case, Mayans are sometimes called "atomic sunfish" and they are more fun to catch than typical bluegill. Pic related was a decent sized one, they fight hard and love to run you back and forth parallel to shore.
Up north tho I think it's a tie between green sunfish and pumpkinseeds. Green sunfish are fun because they have that big mouth and can actually hit a variety of baits. Pumpkinseeds have small mouths but a lot of times when I would hook one, it would be a big palm sized guy.
