Just pulled the trigger and bought a pair of Danner Reckoning's for 100$.
I've had decent luck with my last pair of Danner mil boots --2 and a half years daily use and still going strong; using them right now in fact -- and 100$ is cheap enough. Comparing the spec's between the combat boots and more official hiking/hunting one's i get the impression that they are virtually identical, baring the color/ leather finish and some small stuff like the pattern on the outsole i cant see any reason to pay 200/300$ more for proper gear.
On the other hand the only mill boots i see posted here are vintage shit for larpers.
