Done some work with them before.... teh attitude is one thing I can't deal with though. A lot about the "good ol boys club", and if you're not one of them it's difficult to get shit done. At least that's what I've seen.
A little on my background.
>Ride snowmobiles
>Ride dirt bikes
>Avalanche, First Aid, CPR, AED trained; and I keep those certs up.
>Radio ... Amateur operator, along with a couple of other licenses. Have radio equipment and rarely ride without it. Done some emcomm work, mostly infrastructure and tower side, but doing so has gotten me some operations and situation management skills.
>Nav skills ... Confident navigator with a GPS. More than almost everyone I meet. I don't regularly practice with map/compass, but am able to locate myself and navigate a course using just a map and compass.
During the winter i'm out snowmobiling about every weekend.
During the summer I'm riding the dirt bike in the evenings a couple nights a week, and usually doing longer dualsport rides on the weekend. 2-3 day weekends/holidays, it's not uncommon for me to take the mutt to a kennel and put on 200 miles a day on the motorcycle.
