>>442621Cursory glance suggests close to 200 species of fish in the Great Lakes alone. You're far enough north to still bass fish for smallmouth and largemouth both. You're also near cold enough waters to probably get into some really nice smallies along with some toothy beasts like pickerel, pike, muskellunge and walleye. Plenty of great eating fish too like white and yellow perch and crappie.
And that's just Lake Michigan. You'll probably find a lot of these same fish in the speckling of mile+ long ponds to the west of the city, never mind the massive Lake Winnebago a short distance north of Milwaukee. I'd say you're in a good spot to enjoy fishing whether it be for sport, food, or both.
