You can't really have a stove thread without talking about iso-butane canister stoves. The basic ones are really inexpensive and pretty much idiot proof, and produce a good amount of heat. The downside is that they don't preform well in cold or high altitude environments unless you're using one of the more expensive Jetboil style stoves. Also you're invariably going to end up with a pile of fuel cans you have to depressurize and dispose of. Yes you can now refill the stove canisters, but you have to refill them from catering-style fuel can which still leaves you with the same problem, an empty can that you have to depressurize and dispose of.
