The most recent one again, though that was still a few years ago. This was after removing the bandages, before cleaning up excess rawhide and beginning tillering.
One step I forgot in the flowchart or whatever is steambending, for reflex, recurves etc. That's of course the step before applying the backing. The closer you are to final thickness when steambending the better.
I steambend by leading the steam from a large pot through a plywood lid-adapter thing I made into a 4-inch PVC sewer pipe. The steam must be able to flow through. I stuff a few rags in at the end of the pipe but allow for some leakage.
