In all my hiking trips so far I've been running on tents. However I read somewhere that hammocks are superior. And why not?
> Hammocks are smaller to pack and lighter than tents
> Can be set between tress protecting from ground and small animals or on the ground as a "bivy" type system
> Hammocks have cold weather liners available to purchase
So basically it seems that a hammock with a winter liner and an inflatable insulation pad would be superior to the tent in terms of size, weight, concealment, set-up speed and practicality. The benefits to tents would be space and stability.
Any anons have arguments against my reasoning before I go get a new sleeping system?
