>>2271349Depends on the fish and location and time of year. I kill all my fish using a icey slush fill a cooler or bucket that is big enough for the fish to be funny submerged under icey water.
The fish pretty much goes into shock right away from the extreme temperature change. I do my live leftover shrimp the same way because technically the shrimp you buy at a local bait shop around Florida are edible as long as you freeze them before they die and keep their water fresh.
I pretty much go to the store buy 1-2 1 gallon spring water jugs from like Publix and a 20lb bag of ice.
