It depends on how much you're cooking, and the weather. If it's a warm day, 1 coghlan tablet or half an esbit (they are twice the size) is enough to warm up a can of Campbells Chunky Soup. 1 tablet won't get it piping hot, but warm enough to enjoy. If you're making something like oatmeal or coffee that requires hot boiling water it usually takes 2 coghlan tablets or 1 full esbit.
