>>1808939That is pretty fucked actually. Probably just completely a dream but dreams have a way of sinking in and making you question what actually happened. The moment you get the heebie jeebies in your mind it's gonna be a long night.
One time I didn't make it to the shelter in the state forest where I was headed before nightfall, so I had to hunker down off trail for the night in the state park where overnight camping is prohibited. I went off the trail about 5-10mins, which was downhill through the woods the whole way so I knew I wouldn't be spotted. From in my hammock I was certain I saw streams of light shining through the distant trees at like 2am, which basically made it impossible to sleep properly. Could have been through-hikers with headlamps going down the trail up at the top of the hill, could have been the rangers doing a sweep for squatters, could have been someone snooping around, could have just been the moonlight playing tricks on me.
