>>2113290In this weather? As long as I make a fire before the first nightfall I will surely survive, unless some black bear wants to eat me. I actually was just in WMNF this weekend.
I'm assuming I have to do this stupid challenge because I'm lost, so
>stop>think>observe>planBut if I can't remember my route back to the trail or whatnot, my first priority is water.
>gather up birch bark and some try kindling>use glasses as magnifying glass to start fire>if cloudy, attempt to make rope from any stringy plant I can turn into chord, making a fire bow>get fire going before nightfall if all goes well>start working on a birch bark container to boil water at dawn>once a working model is crafted, I dig a hole with a stick next to the nearest water source (diy filter) and fill my bark container. >very VERY carefully (and probably taking multiple tries) boil water in my bark container>let cool and drink>look around the water source for local edibles, such as Indian cucumber, wild carrot, and stinging nettle>if food is available, eat immediately>if not, start making a shelter close to my fire>make a simple bivy from pine branches>at this point, I can survive perpetually. I would start putting all my effort into signaling. Pic related is little east pond in the White Mtns. There's a tent site cleared on the shore, if anyone wants to camp there.
