I'm currently reading Wuthering Heights, which has fuck all to do with /out/ besides being set on a moor in Yorkshire, which it portrays really well with it's descriptions of the grim landscape.
Which reminds me of pic related, a recent release I've been meaning to read. I read the preview a while back and it seems to meander from personal anecdotes to retelling other people's anecdotes to talking about books with stories set on moorland and even goes into the geography and history of some moors.
Forests and mountains are lovely, sure, but moors are raw and untouched.
