As long as you have a way to keep yourself occupied and happy you're fine, and as long as you feel safe. If I was just in a tent or hiking a long way to solo camp it's a bit creepy, but when you have a vehicle that you can lock yourself away in and drive out through (nearly) anything it's okay to.
I quit my job last Christmas Eve and immediately after work drove out for 5 days alone in the mountains for Christmas, and it was really therapeutic. Didn't see another person pass through the whole time.
