>>1263049>It is straight up vandalism, so what?So what? SO it's straight up fucking vandalism.
How do we justify Urban Exploration? We justify it because we're not hurting anything; we're just quietly entering, taking pictures, and then leaving. At our core, we follow the same tenets as hikers: "Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, burn nothing but time."
But these fuckers never got that memo, or just didn't care. They decided that their vague desire to draw shit trumped anyone else's desire to actually enjoy what they're looking at, or the property owner's desire to not have their shit turned into a canvas. These fuckers are why I lie about my hobby, because destructive assholes decided they didn't care about anyone else coming after.
And yeah, people are going to do it. But more people are going to do it if we normalize it in the urbexing community. New blood peeks into these threads and forums and wonders what we're about. If they see healthy discussion about "best ways to tag shit," then they're going to be more likely to assume that any urbexer worth a damn ISN'T going to shun someone for that shit.
THAT is why I get assmad. Because it DOES sway the people who saw shit like
>>1261852 and just assumed that tagging is an acceptable part of urban exploration. I refuse to let my hobby shift like that without a fight.
