There's a very short list of things that cause us pain as we grow older; the death of loved ones, divorces, selling of houses, etc. One of the underrated items I think is seeing your childhood forests/neighborhoods/stomping grounds developed, razed, or ruined. It happens to all of us but fuck nobody's ever ready for that shit.
